Developer Diary 3 - The Emperor’s Hammer

Ave Imperator, Force Commander!

Explore the Baleful Edict, ready your Battle-Brothers and execute daemonkind in the final gameplay diary for Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters!

In the third and final entry to our three-part Developer Diary series, Complex Games’ Creative Director Noah Decter-Jackson, Lead Designer Peter Schnabl and Chief Technology Officer Adrian Cheater introduce us to the Baleful Edict’s crew and ship systems, along with the roster of characters, you will lead in the fight against Nurgle and his minions.

We’ll be exploring a number of systems, from Precision Targeting to Grey Knight classes and customisation. With Precision Targeting, Grey Knights can target specific enemy body parts to inflict debilitating status effects, or pave the way for brutal executions. In this Developer Diary, we'll take a look at the many ways your finest champions can be customised, from tilt shields, armour flair, head choices and so much more – and that’s before we even mention the array of weapons and wargear to choose from!

Iconic Black Library author Aaron Dembski-Bowden also returns to delve into the dynamics of Inquisitorial fervour versus the duty of the Grey Knights. This interplay draws from the depth and complexity of the Warhammer 40,000 universe as players pursue the Bloom, a deadly plague threatening the Tyrtaeus sector and beyond!
